Sessions begin with postural, structural, and functional assessments of clients while standing and walking, to provide optimal healing results. When the client is on the table, I use Polyvagal theory and energy balancing to regulate the nervous system and help the client into the ventral vagal nervous system, so their body can relax out of protection mode (fight or flight), which allows me to work with their body, not against it.
Every massage is tailored to the individual client’s specific needs - while giving very thorough massages by addressing and touching all muscular and facial structures possible. I incorporate all my specialty training techniques and different modalities of bodywork in client sessions to achieve optimal healing results. I look at the body as a whole – where all areas of the body are connected and affected by all the other parts, holistically. I work not only with tissue function but with the client’s nervous system, neural responses, skeletal structure, fascia, and lymphatic system - regarding pain, discomfort, dysfunction, and release.
Often clients may require deep tissue in areas of their bodies for release, but possibly not in all areas and this does not always have to be achieved with painful massage. Some clients’ bodies respond effectively to lighter pressure and touch, which makes listening and observing how the client’s body responds an important aspect of achieving the highest outcome for clients.
I specialize in chronic use injuries; sports injuries; migraines/headaches; neck/upper back pain; frozen shoulders, and other shoulder injuries and conditions; low back/pelvic floor/hip pain discomfort/injuries; knees; ankles; scar tissue; neural pain, and neuropathy; trauma and grief held in the body; energy rebalancing and Reiki for emotional and physical healing.
